Stephanie Toledo, insurance specialist
Stephanie has been accompanying her family to our practice since she was a teenager. After watching her grow into a patient, soft-spoken, kind-hearted young woman we were delighted to welcome her to our practice as a respected colleague in September of 2009.
Since then, she has been ensuring that her friends and neighbors all receive the same quality of care that she and her family have come to expect as patients over the years. She has proven exceptionally adept at resolving insurance and accounting questions, and has now taken on a leadership role in supervising and training our staff. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. |
Guillermo O. Aldrete, optical and lab manager
Omar first came to our practice as a patient in 2006. Over the years, we have watched him grow into an intelligent, thoughtful, and responsible young man. He worked in a variety of customer service positions, including retail stores and rental housing, before joining our practice in 2012. He has enjoyed learning all the steps behind the scenes that go into providing the service he came to expect from us as a patient. Not being a fan of the word "no," Omar excels at finding creative solutions to enhance patient care. He is constantly listening to our patients and bringing new ideas to the table so that we can continue to grow in our ability to offer the best service possible.
Omar has not only learned the many inner workings of our practice, but is also responsible for creating and improving upon many of our office policies to ensure that we are constantly adjusting to your ever changing needs. In his "spare" time he also does private DJ events and is currently studying for his contractor's license. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Candy Salazar, optician
Candy has been engaged in serving the Fruitvale Village community for many years as a barista at Powderface. In 2015 she decided she was ready for a career change and, as most of us had been her regular customers, we knew she would provide the same excellent service to our patients that she had always given us. Candy has enthusiastically taken on the challenge of learning a new field, asking so many questions that she became an optical expert in record time. Her new knowledge, combined with her natural friendliness and genuine desire to learn how to best serve each patient has made her a wonderful addition to our practice.
She is available to assist you in all aspects of patient care and is bilingual in English and Spanish. She excels in resolving insurance questions. |
Jailene Garibay, optician
Jailene joined our practice just before her high school graduation in 2016, making her one of the youngest staff members we have ever worked with, but we had every confidence that, like her family member Candy, she would bring the same work ethic to the job. She has proven to be more than up to the task as she has learned to juggle both her work and a full time college schedule. We have greatly enjoyed watching her grow in confidence as she has stepped in to manage our collection of frames to ensure that you always have access to the latest fashions in the optical industry.
She is also available to assist you in all aspects of patient care with her characteristic patience and refreshing humility. She is also bilingual in English and Spanish. |
TRAINEES
We are pleased to welcome Maria Vasquez, Guillermo Ruiz, and Alvaro Paredes to our practice. They are members of our patient community and long-time Oakland residents. Full bios will be forthcoming when they complete their training.
